With its ancient culture and the Himalayas as a backdrop, landlocked Nepal is a country of remarkable beauty. It is also one of the richest countries in the world in terms of bio diversity. Ranging from sub-tropical to arctic climates, with tropical jungles, raging wild rivers, forests, frozen valleys and the greatest mountain range on earth.  It contains 10 of the world’s highest peaks and was the birth place to Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, teeming with a wealth of wildlife.

Women's Co-opertives

We work with women’s co-operatives in Nepal supporting fair trade business practices. These co-operatives help women to earn a sustainable wage and create opportunities for themselves and their families. Through support we aim to preserve traditional artisan skills and help the women lift their families out of poverty.

Cashmere fleece is hand spun and woven in Nepal. It is the warmest and most luxurious of all the wools. It comes from the underbelly of the Capra Hircus goat that is reared sustainably in remote parts of the Himalayas and outer Mongolia at altitudes above 14,000 feet.
 
In Nepali folk lore analogies of the warmth of the wool are sung to the warmth of endeared love. Stories are told in the weaving of the pashmina and history is remembered.
